ORLY COSMIX FX COLLECTION SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Finally I’m putting this up. I must be the last person in the world to post these colours up but well.. at least its here!:-)
Neway, due to financial constraint, I could only purchase 3 of the 6 colours in this collection. I had to properly select them and the winners are… Tada!

Its Not Rocket Science.

Its not rocket science is probably my personal favorite in this collection (haven’t seen space cadet yet). There are two schools of thought for this one; either one loves it, or hates it like hell due to its unique ‘ugly’ shade. I fall in the small group of people who loves it. It has a yellowish brown base, covered with gold and greenish flakes. Absolutely stunning in real. As usual I have no idea how to capture glitters properly hence the low quality pics.. sorryL

Halley’s Comet

Halley’s Comet is exactly like Zoya Charla and OPI Catch Me in Your Net (will do comparison one of these days once I find my Zoya). It’s a beautiful colour but it isn’t unique. I mean how unique can it get if Zoya and OPI looks similar to this? Nevertheless, it’s a turquoise base colour with small little blue, green and gold glitters in it.

Galaxy Girl.

Galaxy Girl is one of the ‘dark’ shades in this collection. It’s a mixture of dark maroon and purple with blue-ish green glitter in it that’s hardly noticeable unless under the sun. It looked nice on my nails so I like this tooJ this colour is similar to Mac’s latest colour; Formidable (it will not be out in Malaysian till Nov)

Overall I love this collection. It is one of those collections that I was waiting impatiently for. Did it disappoint me? Not at all. The formulation is great (its big 4 free!!), the application was flawless (although I needed 3 coats for these), the drying time was pretty fast, and the colours did meet my expectation. I wish Space Cadet wasn’t sold out because that’s what I really wantedL

Even so, yap, this is an awesome collection. The only cons? The price. This retails at much higher price than the normal Orly. But its ok.. Its totally worth it..

So which is your favorite in this collection?

OPI BAGUETTE ME NOT SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Good Morning Girls..
Ok today is one of those days where ill need to do this really fast. I took up extra time this morning to beautify myself to work so now I’ve gotta rush. Il’l have to put off reviewing Orly Cosmix Collection till tomorrow.

Neway the colour today is Baguette Me Not from OPI. Initially when I purchased this colour, I thought it was a bright rosy red and I didn’t like it. Probably because I was more into dark shades last year and wasn’t into bright colour till the quarter half of this year.

Nevertheless, Baguette Me Not is a rosy pink that looks coral-ish under sunlight. It’s weird because under the sun it looks darker; with the colour leaning towards pinkish orange whilst indoor it looks rosey-pink with not hint of orange at all. To make you guys understand this colour more, I’ve taken pics indoor and out.
Under Sunlight (without topcoat)
Indoor with flash(without top coat)

See what I mean?
As for the application; as usual it’s the flawless OPI application with its pro-wide brush. It gives a crème finishing; just the way I like it. Overall; this is indeed my latest favorite colour in the pink shades. How about you? Do you own one? Do you like it?

OPI FLUTTER SUMMER COLLECTION SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Morning Girls..
This is a quick update on one of the OPI’s collection; OPI Flutter Summer Collection. This collection is composed of four beautiful bright colours; OPI wing It, OPI Catch Me in Your Net, Flit A Bit and Flower To Flower:

OPI Flit A Bit

This is an orange crème colour that was absolutely easy to apply! It’s a n orange that is just that; not too red, not too yellow. Just a nice orange. This is the only crème in this collection, and I just wished it was a bit glittery like the others. Why? Because this reminds me so much of the other oranges OPI has; especially those from Bright Pair’s Collection. Is this another common OPI colour with different name? Ill come out with some comparison soon..

OPI Wing It

This Is a very sheer glittery jelly like pink colour that has duochrome effects under different lighting. It’s the glitters that are duochrome. A very unusual colour that is absolutely hard to describe. Nevertheless, I’ve got mixed reactions towards this. Love the unusual colour but I don’t really fancy the sheer application. This was 3 coats. Colour is much darker in real.

OPI Catch Me In Your Net.

OPI catch me in your net is a glitter blue that is a real dupe of Charla from Zoya. Exactly the same. Im not doing any comparison here because its just all over the net. Besides I’ve lost mineL. This has a little duochrome effects with its greenish, blue-ish, silver-ish glitter.

OPI Flower To Flower.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I got a matte like finish in this bright pink creamy, silver glitter polish! Im not sure its just me or everyone else as well? I had to put my Nubar Diamont top coat to make it shine unlike others. The colour is basically a creamy pink, that has shimmers on it so I wouldn’t call it pure cream. Reminds me of paddlepop ice cream.

Overall it was a great collection with lots of shimmery colours, and also crèmes. Application was flawless, and medium-ly thick to get a good coverage. I’m afraid my camera couldn’t capture the images presicely so the colours might be slightly darker in real. Do you own any colours from Flutter Summer? Which is your favorite? Mine is OPI Flower To Flower

ZOYA BEBE SWATCHES AND REVIEW

OMG! I’m so in love with my new polishes! Can stop ‘playing’ with them that I hardly have the ‘time’ to swatch them (besides the weather is going crazy these two days).
So neway, I’ve done few collections so I’m hoping to review them on one of these days. So do come back to check em out. While then, here I’m posting this Zoya colour that I swatched last Friday; Bebe.
Bebe is a sheer pink colour that has a shimmer finish. It’s a beautiful light pink. Absolutely great for those who wants the toned down look to work (I’m wearing OPI’s No Room For The Blues tomorrow to work:-D). The only problem with Bebe is that it’s so so sheer that I had almost given up layering my nails with it to get an opaque finish. So finally, this is what I got with 4 coats of Zoya Bebe;
 Under Natural Light
 Under Natural light
With Flash

I would have had more to say about it during my ‘toned down, nude look day’ mood but now I’m into brights so not gonna say much:-)

Neway.. What you girls think?

P/S: Nail Galore Merdeka Giveaway is still on till 30/9/2010. Join now for those who haven’t! :-D

SUKI NAIL POLISH SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Ever heard of the polish brand ‘Suki’ before? I most definitely haven’t. At least not until a friend went on and on about it. She claimed that Suki’s application was so ‘powerful’ that it was bound to be my favorite cheapo. I was a little skeptical about it but thought of giving it a try anyway. My verdict? After the pics..

This was 3 layers. It’s the 135 numbered color. Very sheer and appears whitish in the bottle but on my nails slightly towards pink. I have this ‘thing’ towards white, so I really liked this.

No 373. This is a shimmery grey with colorful micro sparkles. Didn’t look nice on my nails. This pic is of 2 layers

No 183 is a dark green metallic polish.

Lastly is No 184, a purple metallic polish that reminds me of a colour from China Glaze that I really can’t recall the name.

Overall; ya the application was so so smooth! In fact I was very very impressed when I applied it because no cheapo does this! And the best part was the brush was really even (unlike some cheap brands that has streaks coming off). But then, that’s the only good thing about it. Im not too sure about the ingredient, but i bet it isn’t Big 3 toxic free. Smell was bad! And the colours weren’t that attractive. This was the best 4 I could select (but at that time of purchase I was into dark shades). Its very cheap- Rm8.90; got this from SaSa.

I will probably not buy this again but I would like to hear from others who have used this; is it good or bad?

OPI DESIGNER SERIES SWATCHES, REVIEW AND COMPARISON

Want some little diamonds on your nails? Check out this OPI Designer Series’ compilation I’ve put together (only those I had of course)

OPI DS Classic:

DS Classic is champagne like colour that sparkles like mad under the sun! Its very similar to Nubar’s Spark from the Prism Collection. Comparatively, I prefer the Nubar’s in terms of application etc. However, when it comes to the sparkly, holo-like effect (which I really couldn’t see but people are talking all about it), both are the same

OPI DS Opulence

DS Opulence is a pinkish, mauvish polish that really looked like little diamonds on nails. It’s nothing unique though. Not a fan of this so I really can’t write anything nice about it :-(

OPI DS Glow

When I saw glow, I thought it really looked like one of those regular OPI polishes- OPI Charmed by the snake, OPI Bling Dynasty etc. On the contrary, this turned out to be denser in terms of sparkles in it, and its obviously more opaque. But then again its DS series so.. DUH!! Again; not a fan of this.

DS Coronation

This is a gorgeous silver-platinum like diamond polish that’s I couldn’t keep my eyes off when it was on my nails! You can actually see the holo effect on this one! Not so much intense like CG’s OMG collection or nfuoh, but it does have the holographic effect to some extend. Out of all the DS series I have; love this the most!

Overall; application was great, formula is good, and removal was easy. The only problem is? Price! This retails for Rm73 in Malaysia and elsewhere I believe its $2 more. That’s a little bit towards the high end because seriously; there isn’t any difference at all between these and Nubar’s Prism collection. Would I buy this anymore? No

So do you girls have your own DS collection? What do you think?

The best news is; its all much cheaper than the previous blogshop as i found a cheaper supplier. So i really hope to get some response after this:-)

OPI ATOMIC ORANGE SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Another colour from the past: OPI Atomic Orange!
This is a pure orange! You get what you see in the bottle; truly bright orange creme. Initially i didn't really like the colour as i thought it looked awful on my nails against my medium toned skin, but when this was on a chinese friend of mine; it looked absolutely stunning on her! So in conclusion? It looks like the perfect orange shade for the fairer skin tone. This pics were on my nails:

OPI Atomic Orange (under sunlight)

OPI Atomic Orange (flash)

Drying time was good (normal OPI drying time), and application was relatively easy (again probably because of the pro-wide brush).

Thanks for reading..
