MISA WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU COLLECTION SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Good Morning!!..
Yea! its Wednesday and only 2 more days to go before Friday! Then weekend! Gosh I’m so spoilt in Gov setting:-)
Anyway the swatches today are all about the new collection from Misa- What I Like About You Collection. This is my first time swatching Misa. In fact the first time having them. I’ve had really high expectation when it came to this one because all the other reviewers were going all ‘gaga’ over it. Does it reach the expectations? Tada..

Spinning out of control is a dark purple-blueish shimmer. It looks very navy blue like here but it does lean towards purple in real. Cant see it in this picture though:-(.

When you say my name, my heartbeat drops a beat! That’s how I felt when I first had this colour on my nails. Its so beautiful! I’m starting to love brown polishes and you don’t get many of them with shimmers, and this has just become my second favorite in my brown list after Nubar Jewel..

Quirky Smile is my other favorite from this collection. A teal shimmer that absolutely brings smile in my face. I always like teal, or jade like green; and this is another addition to my list:-)

Like it like that is a metallic green shimmer. Its quite nice but not an absolute beauty. It doesn't have the uniqueness i'm searching for:-(

Perfect Kiss. Muaks! Is it named like that coz its fuchasia shimmer? Is that how a lipstick should look like when you kiss someone for the first time.. eww..

OMG! Its you! I've been dreaming about you all this while and you are finally here! Now that line can be used for two things; when you meet your dream guy, or when you see this colour! I love this colour! Its charcoal greyish shimmer. A little bit lighter in this picture. In real its darker and absolutely perfect:-)

Overall I think the colours are attractive. I particularly like Quirky Smile, Like it Like That, When you Say My Name, and Its you! Not a fan of perfect kiss, there is just too many shimmery pink similar to that in my collection (probably will do comparison one of these days).
Application wise; im not such a fan of it’s brush. Its so thin (compared to OPI’s or Nubar’s). I had a difficult time applying them. Hence the reason you can see it all streaky on my nails (these are without topcoat). The polish itself was very thick so that didn’t help too. But at least I didn’t need more than 2 coats for these swatches. I love the packaging for this brand though. The bottles are so square that it’s much easier to arrange them on my polish rack.
I don’t know its just my luck or I got a bad batch or what because everyone is so happy with this collection, and I on the other hand am not fond of the polish formula it self. I hate the thick formula. Its so hard to apply! Despite that, I still love the colors. Thus there is this mixed feeling for this collection.
So..Does it live up to my expectation? No!

OPI BASQUE IN THE SUN AND BM01 FAUXNAD SWATCHES

Morning Girls..
Today is all about bronze and browns. Ok not really. The reason I’m having this post is because I came across one of the discontinued colour by OPI; OPI Basque In The Sun, from the European Collection from back in 2002 if I’m not mistaken. It was described as warm caramel shimmer. Is it? Well it is! It’s a sheer, a lot like tanned golden brown, with a small sparkly silver shimmers. Its quite a beauty on its own way, however Its not for everyone though. It would look nice on fair or medium tones skin. Not for those who are pale or dark as the colour wouldn’t stand out in these tones.

With Flash:

I wanted to do some comparison with other browns, however I couldn’t find any that was similar, so instead I did mini swatches on all the browns I have:-)

With Flash:

The colours are:
  • OPI BASQUE IN THE SUN
  • OPI CHARMED BY A SNAKE
  • OPI CHOCOLATE MOOSE
  • OPI CHOCOLATE SHAKESPEARE
  • OPI BAREFOOT IN BARCELONA

This is how it looked with BundleMonster Konad sun image from BM01 plate.

With matte topcoat.

Application wise it was not a pro wide brush, so for someone like me who have constantly been indulged by OPI’s current brushes; had a problem using them. Formula wise its not Big 3 toxic free; so naturally it had the smell I always hate ( my housemates are addicted to it though). Its was kind of to the streaky side. Very sheer so the pictures above were mostly 4 layers. You can get away with 3 though. I on the other hand like it fully opaque.
So.. Hope you girls like this.. will come up with something more fun tomoro (hopefully if i have the time:-))
Till then..
Take Care..

SKIN FOOD- PEDICURE RANGE SWATCHES, REVIEW & COMPARISON PART 1

Good Morning Girls,
The swatches ive schedualed for today is the Skin Food’s Pedicure range. It has about 9 colours in it. However, the swatches today are for 4 colours only. All this colours are pretty. I’m not gonna talk much on it as im rushing (Monday bah!) so let the pictures do the talking.

Comparison: OPI Meet Me On The Star Ferry, Zoya Rea, and the skin food colour:

These are greener, not at all similar like the above colour:-)

Application wise it was ok; not as great as the creamy Nail Vita collection I had reviewed previously. A little to the streaky side. The colours are very up to date; I’ve just received the Misa- What I Like About You Collection and China Glaze Vintage Vixen, and I believe there are some similar colours spotted. I’ll be doing a comparison in another post one of these days. So do check em out. Neway I’ve got to rush now.. so tc..

LES KHAKI DE CHANEL PREVIEW

When I purchased Chanel Paradoxal about a month ago, I though that was it; I’m not going to purchase anymore Chanel for the next few months because, well like last year, I thought Jade was fabulous, and this year was Paradoxal so the next time I fall in love with anymore Chanel lacquer would be probably in a year time.
Little did I know that the soon to be released new Chanel’s Khaki collection had a colour that would catch my eye too. I can see birds flying with my 70 bucks already! Yap..
Look at this Les Khaki De Chanel Collection. Isn’t the Khaki Vert a beauty?

It’s said to be released somewhere in mid of September, and its limited edition; with probably 5000 bottles only. I really hope ill be able to grab hold of one of these:-)

For more info regarding these, check out All Lacquered Up, and Belle Bath & Beyond. They have a better sneak preview review..

NAIL ART: COLOUR BLENDING

Good Morning Girls..
Guess what? I just received my polishes from US- China Glaze and Misa colours. However due to weather trouble (it cant stop raining here!) I wont be able to do any swatches. Hopefully there’s some sunshine this weekend.
Anyway, for today’s post it’s going to be more of a nail art thingy. Initially I was trying out the sponge technique, unfortunately it was so awful and the colour was too sheer that I had to just blend them on my nails. The outcome wasn’t that bad I think:

So what I did here was to use 2 colours from Nubar; absolute and Nubar Treasure, and blend them together.

How to do it? First apply your base coat followed by the base colour- In this case it’s Nubar absolute.

Then just before it dries up, put on the second colour on the tip of your nails. It doesn’t need to be tidy. I wasn’t too happy with the one coat effect so I redid the same thing for the second coat, only this time, the blue; I only used it to cover the lower area, and trying to blend the purple and the blue so there is a 3rd colour effect in the centre. All this you have to do while the polishes are not dried up yet. At the end, it should look something like this:

Wait till it dries off and put on your glossy topcoat. As usual I’m using Diamont Nubar. It takes quite some time to dry though.

I hope you girls like this. It would look really nice with konad tooJ Still waiting for my stamp so cant show you girls that effect.

T.CARE..
