NUBAR VENETIAN GLASS SWATCHES AND REVIEW

When I bought this collection initially, I didn’t interest me at all hence the reason why this post is delayed. However, upon putting it on, it change this whole perception I had on it. Its quite nice! Infact I had Bronzo on my nails for 3 days! 3 Days! That’s a history! Nothing stays on my nails more than a day (although sometimes I do wear them for 2 days but that’s 99.99% because of laziness)

Neway, back to this 1, the color is not that attractive in the bottle but it looks totally ‘unique’ on the nails. It wasn’t something I would wear but because of the response I got for it, I continued wearing it. Its totally attention seeking colorsJ

Arencia:

Arencia is a orangish-redish polish that has little flecks on it. Had some duochrome effect on it too but its hardly noticeable.

Bronzo:

Bronzo is the browner version of Arencia. Somehow I was attracted to this color last Sunday so this is what I wore for 3 days in a row.

Caramello:

Totally a caramel like color. From a distance it looks a little bit goldish.

Oro:

Oro is a polish in a combination of orange and yellow. Again this looks like light gold sometimes. It has gold glass flecks on it so the shine is very very noticeable:-)

Vaso:

This is a purple with silver fleck polish. My second favorite in this collection. However, im wondering if this is similar to OPI’s The color To Watch. I just don’t have the time to do the comparisons right now. Have any of you seen the comparison anywhere eelse?

Verde

Verde reminds me of algae’s in the water. Its blackish, blueish green with little glas fleck on it. Has duo chrome effect as well. I really like this color as well.

They had another two color from this collection-red, but I didn’t purchase it because seriously I’ve got just too many reds with me. For the rest of it; as usual it was easy to apply, perfect drying time and all. Overall im very satisfied with this collection although I wasn’t too happy with the choices of color. Why all orangey, redish brownish? Why only two odd bluish purpleish color? I wish they had more blue and greensJ

EYEKO DARKSIDE SWATCHES & REVIEW

Morning girls..

Well you know since haloween is just around the corner, I’ve decided to swatch these dark colours from Eyeko. In Eyeko’s website, they have a set of 3 colors called the darkside and I personally feel its goes very well with the haloween theme. So here is what they’ve got to say about the colors:

Eyeko Cosmic Polish

Unique midnight black shade loaded with multi-coloured glitters like fireworks in a night sky!

Eyeko Vampira Polish
 Dare to wear this lust-worthy glossy black lacquer dripping with blood red shimmer.

Eyeko Indigo Polish

Keep nails short and blunt to nail this shimmery, cool, midnight blue like Sophie Dahl.

The colors? Here it is.

Eyeko Cosmic Polish is just like what its described; black shade with lots of colorful glitters. Really nice. The glitters can be seen more in the pic taken with flash.

Eyeko Vampira Polish

Eyeko Vampira Polish is really just a black polish with red glitter. But it certainly stands out. I got a lot of people saying how gorgeous it looks on my nails etc, but if you are the person who can just mix your own polishes, then you can always do this at home so for me, there is nothing great here.

Eyeko Indigo

Eyeko Indigo polish reminds me so much of OPI Ink. I don’t have a bottle of it so I couldn’t compare these two together but really the first layer its was like putting on dark purple, only in the second layer I could see the dark blue side.

Overall it’s an ok collection. I like cosmic polish the most here, as the others could be easily ‘re-creatable’. (Its not like cosmic can’t be but I’m too lazy to buy lots of colorful glitters). Application was ok too but I’m not really happy with its long and skinny brush. It was a bit hard to apply. Drying time was the greatest:-)

ESSIE CHIN CHILLY SWATCHES AND REVIEW

This whole love towards grey is still there right? Well it certainly is for me. That’s why I picked up Essie ChinChilly when I first saw it during my visit to KL. It’s a grey that’s not totally a flat grey. There is some hints of purple and brown (not sure which). I wouldn’t call it too dark, or too light as it changes under different lightings.

You can’t see this in the pictures though. Neway the application was great, even drying time was remarkably below 10 minutes. All in all its a perfect shade for all occasions. I cant find a dupe here. Im sure there is so if anyone knows, please let me know:-)

ORLY HOOK UP SWATCHES & REVIEW

Hi girls, how’s your weekend so far? Mine was great! I did nothing but laze around on my couch munching away. Now I’ve got to think about how to get rid of this accumulated belly fat this whole week.

Anyway, today I have a color I want to share with you girls, Orly Hook Up. Im not sure when was this color released but its really a beautiful vibrant sunflower like semi neon yellow. Its very summery and since its summer all the time in Malaysia, this is one color that can easily be worn all year long.

The only problem with this is its very sheer! This is 4 coats! So the drying time was crazy too. However, to make it look brighter, I’m pretty sure it would look better with a white base coat. Then hopefully we don’t need 4 layers for it. If you notice the pictures, its also very streaky. I don’t have a topcoat here so this is how streaky it can get. Quite confident the topcoat will be able to ‘neutralize’ it a bit.

All in all I kind of like this color (in the mood for bright stuff). How about you? What’s your favorite color/polish at this very moment?

ESSIE WINTER COLLECTION

I feel like these colours are a little bit darker shade of the same color from the fall collection. That’s what I think. (please don’t go against me if I’m wrong:-()

NUBAR FINEST SILK COLLECTION

I love every color from this. Im pretty sure im gonna get all. However im also sure ill be one of those who post the swatches up the latest since the collection wont be out in Malaysia till one month after its launched internationally :-( So do look it up elsewhere and let me know how it goes.

OPI’s KATY PERRY'S COLLECTION

Correct me if im wrong but I think this is one of the most hyped about collection that’s gonna come out. From the preview bottles, I see lots of glitters (yeay!) and shimmers. After the response from all the glitters from various brands (OPI, China Glaze, Deborah Lippmann, Zoya, Orly etc), I have a feeling this finishing’s are here to stay for a long long time (until we are totally sick of it. For now I’m not). Neway this is how the collection looks, along with the youtube preview video.

Notice the cracking polish called Black Shatter? Hmm.. I wonder if the other brands are gonna produce these too. Is it going to be another new ‘fashion’ for polish finishing? We shall wait and see. (Although I know cracking nails has been there for a long time here in Asia)

OPI TEXAS COLLECTION

This is something I read from pssion.se. It seems that OPI is coming out with a newer collection; OPI Texas Collection. Now I don’t know about you girls but sometimes I wonder if OPI will ever venture to Asia or they gonna stick to the west only? Yea, they did ‘go’ to India, Japan and Hong Kong, but I really wish they would come to South East Asia:-) Wouldn’t it be great if they did something like a Thai Collection? Or better still Malaysia (yea I know there is Malaysian Mist, but I want another 11 colours to go with it; something based on the diverse culture here.)

Neway, back to the Texas Collection, well it reminds me so much of the Mexico Collection since they are situated next to each other. Same colour again? Lets take a look at it:

I think the 6 reds/orange is very similar isn’t it? If not with Mexico Collection, then its similar to some hong kong collection. What you think?

So all in all, I cant say I’m excited about every collection, only few like Katy Perry, and Nubar’s (although I can easily say I have few of the same colours from the other brands). I know ive been going on and on about how they should come out with new coours and finishing blab la bla but seriously its time for revolution. Like what all the brands did with matte finishing. Look at how it took the ‘world’. I really do hope that one day ill wake up with something new in my polish closet that would excite me. Haish..

P/S: Don’t mind my words and mood. Im just very disappointed and tired; both with this polish colors and work :-(

ESSIE MESMERIZE SWATCHES & REVIEW

Good morning girls.

This is a quick post. Ive had this color with me for ages but never thought of wearing or swatching it till recently.

Essie Mesmerize

Not a fan of blue but I surely like this. It’s a blue that’s not too dark and yet not too bright either. Just nice. It’s a blue that can be worn on every occasion, and one that I don’t think is gonna go out of fashion anytime soon.

The application was remarkably easy and formula was great. The only downside for this color is that it needed 3 coats and hence the drying time was a little bit prolonged (about 10 mins or so in this hot climate). But again, that’s nothing a good fast drying topcoat can’t take care of.
