ORLY FOIL FX COLLECTION SWATCHES

Ever since we published a post on minx few months ago, almost every week we get emails from fans asking about it, wether we have it or not, where to get it done etc. Well lets just face it; its not here yet, and we are not sure if its gonna be here till long time. Its ridiculously expensive and you need it done professionally to get the beautiful metallic effect Rihanna had on her. 

Neway, the good news is ORLY came out with 3 different shades that are claimed to give the same metallic finish. Does it really produces the same effect as the metallic that ruled 2010 Fashion Week? Judge it for yourselves;

Shine is very very 'metalic'. We just couldn't capture the proper picture due to our lack of experience with the camera:-) Its pure silver! No green base or blue base etc. Very easy to apply but drying time isn't as great as expected:-( To get the perfect smooth effect you will need to apply it smoothly from back to front. No starting from midway etc. Overall its quite nice, but out of all three this is our least favorite. Why? Read on..

Rage.. its simply beautiful. It looks like Meet Me on The Star Ferry from HK OPI collection here but in real its suppose to be a rosy foil ( Although it looks more broonze-y like) The colour is just simply beautiful. This is our favorite!

Luxe is one of the most famous one in this batch. Very thick and its just so GOLD!! This picture just doesnt do justice to it. Its not something so strong but just nice. It would go with every skin tone. 

Overall it was fun having these babies on my nails. Something different and unique. But i just couldn't stop admiring my nails when Rage was on. It still is:-D So does it have minx finish? Erm I dont think so. But it is close; besides its the cheaper version for DIY anyway:-)  3 layers should be able to give a proper finish (above pics are 2 layers), and no top coat is needed. Use base coat if you are gonna keep it on a long time to avoid nail staining; just like other polishes.
