Well I realized that over these past few months I’ve had zero post on tips so ive decided to dedicate one day in every two weeks for tips. Hope you girls like this sessionJ
Anyway, today’s post will be about how to choose a nail shape. When I was a little younger (last yearJ) I always thought there is only 2 shapes for nails- Rounded or square. Little did I know that there are probably 6-7 shapes for nails alone! Thanks to Sally Hansen for these tips;
Nail Type | For Whom? | How To? | Strength? |
Will look good on almost all types of nails. Especially short wide nails | Allow the sides to grow straight then shape them round on the tips | This type of nails is usually strong due to the straight sides
Like straight sided with slightly oval tip, this too looks great on wide nails. | File the tip into an egg shape like and file the sides to match, making it look like a “pyramid”. | This type of nails is weak due to the sides that are filed off.
Looks great on short wide nails or long big fingers. | Like Oval, file the nails by squaring them instead of egg shape and file the sides to match, slightly oval at the side. | Slightly stronger than Oval.
Elongated small hands and fingers | File the nail at the two sides until the nails are pointed at the side. | This type of nails is not at all strong. It breaks easily. It also does not promote maximum nail growth
Those who has short nails, also for those who are active | Allow nails to grow slightly and file them round | Strongest type of nails. Does not break easily
Long Narrow Fingers | Allow nails the grow then file straight across the nails | Strong
Long Narrow fingers | Like square nails only round the sides. | Strong |
Hope you girls like this. Remember to file one direction only or else it could reduce the strength of the nails. Take care..
