When I say black polish, what is the first thing that comes in your mind? Goth? Punk? Vampy? Elegant? Sophisticated? Classy? Yap you got all right. All depends on how do you wear them and carry them off. It can be anything you want. Black or dark shades do have double personality :-)
Dark shades especially blacks has gone a long way before being what it is today. The History?: http://nymag.com

The Problem with black or darker shades are its hard to pull it off the way you want it to be. Frait not! Read the tips below on the looks you want:

For Gothic Look, along with your polish wear:
- • Jet-black, stick straight hair
- • Pale white makeup
- • Black lipstick
- • Black clothing
For sophisticated, elegant look:
- • Do not wear black clothing.
- • Wear simple jewelry. Let your black nails be your main accessory.
- • Black tends to look classiest on short, well-manicured nails. Extremely long or obviously fake black nails simply look scary or costumish.
- • Very dark nail polish attracts attention and requires a bit of confidence. If you prefer to be a wallflower, skip the black.

Bare in mind that these colours are not suitable for girly girls, its more for those who wants to look outstanding and sophisticated. For girlys, I would suggest pink or red shades instead:-)
