ESSIE RESORT COLLECTION SWATCHES

Essie Resort Collection is a collection from Essie that consists of 4 beautiful colours:

  • Lapis of Luxury Dreamy ocean blue
  • Splash of Grenadine Playful magenta pink
  • Playa del Platinum Elegant and sheer sandy gray
  • Turquoise & Caicos Flirty and pretty tropical aqua

I must say i was very much pleased with the colours.. All of them are so nice and creamy; just the way i like it:-) Take a look at it and judge it for yourself:

Lapis of Luxary is a bluish cream. Very nice. The camera just couldnt capture the shade. Its much more softer blue than this. The first layer was ok. But the subsequent layers brought out such beautiful finish that ill have to agree with the name: 'Lapis" of Luxary:-)
*Lapis= Layers in Malay

Splash or Grenadine is a beautiful pink that i would say can be normally found in other collections too. But its nice definitely..

Turquoise & Caicos.. Hehe.. I never say anything bad againts turquoise so im gonna skip this biased review. All i can say is tht its still on my nails although i did these swatches 3 days ago:-)

Playa De Platinum is a brownish grey polish that caught my eye the moment i saw this collection ( after the turquoise of course!). Its so nice! I mean its something someone can wear with everything. Trust me when you have this on, you will forget about those soft pink polishes you girls always go for when you want the toned down look. Nyummy!!

Overall i think this collection is almost perfect. The colours are beautiful, the application was easy, the drying time was good, the only problem is its a bit costly. But hell.. its gorgeous or what!:-)

MAC-TO THE BEACH NAIL POLISH & KONAD S9 SWATCHES

The colour of the day is In The Buff, a new MAC nail polish from their new collection: To The Beach Le Collection. It has another colour in the collection called Scorcher or something but the colour didnt look like it was worth Rm 42. I mean its a normal colour- something you see all the time in other brand's collection.

Neways, I went to the MAC counter yesterday and i just grabbed this new In The Buff colour when i saw it. Didn't even try it out. In the bottle it looks like one of those foundation for light tanned skin. Its totally an unique colour i must say. Never did i own anything quite like this before.

The description to this colour says its a muted taupe avocado. I really cannot agree to it. Taupe is a grayish-brownish colour. This is definitely not it. Its more greenish yellowish. Something like old olive i must say. The texture is very creamy, and it shines too. So neway these are the swatches of it.

*sorry its a bit blurry. Morning sun wasnt out much yet:-)

There are various description about this colour and how unique it is and yada yada yada.. , personally it reminds me so much of baby's poo. I really cannot find any other description to this one. It definitely doesn't agree to me. Probably will look nicer on fair skin. The texture of this polish, the formula of this polish and even the application is terrific. Even the packaging is really nice, and the price, though its at the higher end of Rm 42, since the formula and drying time is good, its quite worth it. Only the colour! I don't think ill ever wear this again. Even my housemates says its yucky! Its unique ya but hmm..

Then i thought hey.. y not try the konad; and so here is my second attempt for Konad-ing. I hope its ok this time. Shouldn't have put on the top coat-thats y the blurry image:-(

So.. what do you girls think? Will you buy this colour or not? Its definitely one of a kind. I wish it was darker a little bit and more green than yellow. Then at least it would have looked like fresh olives. Yeah i have obsession towards greens so i am biased. I suggest you girls to read other people's review too before purchasing it. Many favors it. I certainly wouldn't
Neway, Should i try konad-ing anymore?:-(

STAGE-ASTOUNDING NAIL POLISH SWATCHES

Good Morning Girls..
As you girls know i've been searching for the new Chanel Paradoxal Polish everywhere and obviously it couldn't be found as its not even out yet! That too after calling various Chanel counters in Malaysia (Yes i'm crazy i know!).
Anyways, I've finally found something close to that- although i've got no idea if its same or not (never seen the Chanel's Paradoxal up close). The colour i got this time is Stage's Astounding polish.
Its quite cheap- Rm 35 (i bought it for Rm 18- SALE till end of this month) and the application was almost perfect. The smell was nice, and the packaging looks a lot like Chanel's Polish bottle. The product was quite good. In fact it smelled and applied like OPI's older formulation-when it was easier to apply. Hmm.. not bad for a Malaysian brand aye? How does it look? Tada!
In the box; just before opening it..

Different lightings. Tried to capture the micro glitter details but couldn't. Basically it had very little micro glitter-silverish finish. Very minute to a point you can ignore it. Have a closer look:

Can you see it?
Neways.. this is what i think the rating is:

PRODUCT
3.5/5
PRICING
4/5
APPLICATION
4/5
LOOK
4/5
OVERALL: B+

I wouldn't call it Austouding though coz seriously it isn't as breathtaking as it should look but its close to it. Probably a little bit of more glitter and a bit more darker then probably there is a chance it will be: at least for me. I want Paradoxal! :-(

So.. What do you think?

THE FACE SHOP SWATCHES- PASTEL COLOURS

I bought few colours from The Face Shop a week ago- you know just for fun. I've never tried it before so i decided to give it a try this time around. To start with; I think its the cheapest nail polish i've had! I bought 12 colours and it only cost me like Rm 60! But then after that i had my doubts. I've heard from some of my friends that i need at least 5 coats to have the same effect as other polishes. True or not? Just read on to find out:

The Face Shop Nail Polish PP408-purple

The first colour is a purple. The colour is pastel. Looks a lot like rumple's wiggins from OPI. 2 coats was more than enough:-)

The Face Shop Nail Polish BL606- blue

3 coats for this one.

The Face Shop Nail POlish PK110-pink
This colour is very sheer so i needed 4 coats for this. But 3 would have been enough. I wanted the Orly Sugar High look:-)

The Face Shop Nail Polish PP409-Purple
I couldn't capture the exact shade for this. In actual its 2 shades darker. And the best part is its Duochrome!

The Face Shop Nail POlish BL602-Blue

Looks like OPI What's With The Cattitude aye?

The Face Shop Nail Lacquer BL605-Dark Blue

Very much similar to OPI Blue My Mind. 2 Coat was more than enough.

In conclusion: No! I didnt need 5 coats for this. The most was 4 coats for the sheer pink. Application was ok. I didnt like the smell though. And yes it does cause yellowing of the nails but its nothing a good base coat can't fix.

Disclaimer: I used Nubar Diamond Coat for the extra shine.
