THE FACE SHOP NAIL POLISH SWATCHES

Good Morning girls.
First of all I want to apologize for the lack of updates these few days. Been busy setting up the new website:-) As for the Merdeka Giveaway, ill announce the winner somewhere end of this week so for those who have joined; Good Luck!

Back to swatches, today’s swatches is all about the new color from The Face Shop I just bought last weekend. They had just launched a new range and the color was quite attractive so I couldn’t resist myself but buying it:-D
As usual no numbers or anything to differentiate them, only the colors. Here you go:
Green

Fluorescent green that was opaque enough with only 2 coats! Imagine face shop and two coats only!

Baby blue- again two coat only

Beige- three coats
Yellow- 2 coats

Overall the application was good. They had this really ‘wide’ brush so it was very easy to apply them smoothly onto my nails. The polish’s texture was thicker than the average Face Shop formula so it gave a good coverage even with only 2 coats. The only down point for this range is that it has a long drying time! But well, with it being only Rm4.50, I don’t think it’s much of a complaint. It was kind of expected. And yes.. It stinks!

Hope you have a great day..

Thanks for reading.

PASTEL GREEN-BLUE OMBRE MANICURE

Hi girls..
Today’s post is all about multicolored nails. Ok not so much of the rainbow “paddlepop” like nails, but multicolor-shaded nails is more like it. I got this idea from All lacquered Up.
The colors I used are; (from little finger to thumb) Green from Skin Food nail vita, Essie’s Apple Mint Candy, Essie’s Caicos & Turquoise, Mixture of Essie’s C&T and Orly’s Bailamos, Orly Bailamos.
This pic I had The Face Shop’s Blue glitter polish on it:
This gives me an idea to make my own multicolored ombre manicure in orange! Going to do it one of these days. Till the.. Tc..

STEP UP 3D- BROKEN TANGO INSPIRED NAIL ART

Forgive me for this post as it will be a bit sidetracked from the usual nail polish related post. Today is all about dance- the other love of my life (along with my family and job); yea nails is secondary to these. Anyway, I just watched step up 3 a week ago and although others might like all the other sequences in the movie, I loved the tango the most; or in this case the broken tango as it was not pure tango. Not a fan of all the other sequences because that’s not the genre I go for. I love Contemporary- ballet like, and America-Latin ballroom dancing. Not much of a hip-hop and break-dancing fan.

Anyway, after watching that I came up with an idea for a nail art (not so much of an art) but it was seriously inspired by the tango steps. Ok here’s a question: What do you first notice when you see tango taking place? The guy who leads confidently, or the girl who gives in gracefully? I like the girls; and you know why? Because I’ve got no idea how they dance in those high heels! It’s an art of its own! I’ve broken few bones trying it doing salsa so seriously, bravo to those graceful dancers. This nails art is for you:

First I painted my nails using Essie’s Turquoise and Caicos(T&C), then once it was dried, I dapped The Face Shop’s white polish and OPI’s who the shrek are you on it using a tissue paper (couldn’t find a sponge). Once all dried I re-dapped Essie’s T&C. All done and dried, I drew the heels using Bloop’s Black polish and a brush. Easy isn’t it. Hope you girls like it.
Back to the tango story, here is another of my favorite tango video:

So sexy isn’t it? Wish I could move like that. Haish.. A dream that is almost impossible to come true.

THE FACE SHOP SWATCHES- PASTEL COLOURS

I bought few colours from The Face Shop a week ago- you know just for fun. I've never tried it before so i decided to give it a try this time around. To start with; I think its the cheapest nail polish i've had! I bought 12 colours and it only cost me like Rm 60! But then after that i had my doubts. I've heard from some of my friends that i need at least 5 coats to have the same effect as other polishes. True or not? Just read on to find out:

The Face Shop Nail Polish PP408-purple

The first colour is a purple. The colour is pastel. Looks a lot like rumple's wiggins from OPI. 2 coats was more than enough:-)

The Face Shop Nail Polish BL606- blue

3 coats for this one.

The Face Shop Nail POlish PK110-pink
This colour is very sheer so i needed 4 coats for this. But 3 would have been enough. I wanted the Orly Sugar High look:-)

The Face Shop Nail Polish PP409-Purple
I couldn't capture the exact shade for this. In actual its 2 shades darker. And the best part is its Duochrome!

The Face Shop Nail POlish BL602-Blue

Looks like OPI What's With The Cattitude aye?

The Face Shop Nail Lacquer BL605-Dark Blue

Very much similar to OPI Blue My Mind. 2 Coat was more than enough.

In conclusion: No! I didnt need 5 coats for this. The most was 4 coats for the sheer pink. Application was ok. I didnt like the smell though. And yes it does cause yellowing of the nails but its nothing a good base coat can't fix.

Disclaimer: I used Nubar Diamond Coat for the extra shine.

With Lots of Love:
Nisha
